Winter Park to Boulder

Vidak, Josh and I packed up our things this morning, said goodbye to Jeff, and drove to Denver. We dropped Vidak off at the airport since he flew home today, and then we went to Boulder. Josh and I originally planned on Couch Surfing in Boulder on March 6th, but while we were in California, Josh got an email from University of Colorado at Boulder, one of the schools he applied to for admission into their PhD program. It was an invitation to an open house, hosted by the Aerospace Engineering department, and they were paying for two nights at a hotel. It was near perfect timing, since we just switched our Boulder dates to March 3rd and 4th!

After checking in to the hotel, we decided to get take-out for dinner at a Chinese and Thai restaurant near the campus. The road near the restaurant was closed, so we parked a few blocks away. On our walk to pick up our food, we realized that the road was closed because of a Rail Jam event!

The event consists of skiers and snowboarders riding down rails, doing jumps and tricks along the way. We watched them for a bit, and some were very impressive! We took our delicious beef chow fun back to our hotel room and watched movies before sitting in the hot tub for a while. It was a very nice and relaxing day!

My high was being lazy this evening, watching movies and eating delicious Chinese food! Josh's high was similar: relaxing in the hotel room. :) I didn't really have a low for today, and neither did Josh! Josh's "ho" for the day was being surprised by the rail jam, and my "ho" for today is that Josh finally shaved his beard!!! I think the last time he shaved was in California, almost a month ago! This is Josh before...

... looking very creepy with a mustache...

... and looking so nice (though tired), all clean-shaven!
