Boulder to Colorado Springs

We took full advantage of the continental breakfast offered by the hotel this morning, even taking some bagels and cream cheese for the road! We checked out and headed to the Celestial Seasonings factory, where they have over 72 types of tea to try!

The tour was pretty good, and I loved trying all of the different types of tea. The only downside was the propaganda video that was shown before the tour... it's sad that Celestial Seasonings started off as a very independent company and then sold out!

On the drive to Colorado Springs we made a stop in Golden to take a tour of the Coors brewery! This is the biggest brewery that we have toured so far, and they were super organized. We took a tour bus from the parking lot to the plant, where we had our IDs scanned to print a wristband with our name on it. There wasn't even a tour guide! We were provided with audio tour devices, just like in a museum.

We had to take silly photos with the giant cardboard bottles!

There was a big tasting room at the end of the tour, and we each got to taste three samples of beer. The samples were huge, maybe 8 ounces each!

We took the bus back to the car, and then continued on our trip to Colorado Springs. We met our host, Chris, and her husband, John, at their really neat purple and green house in a residential neighborhood of the city. We are their first Couch Surfers! They surfed once in Oregon but had never hosted before. It seems like every time that we're the first or one of the first surfers that someone hosts, we are always incredibly spoiled, and this was no exception! We were treated to delicious pizza and salad for dinner and talked to Chris and John about their life and travels. They are a really nice couple and treated us so nicely!

Josh and I shared the same high: meeting Chris and John! They are such nice people! We also had another day with no lows. :) Josh's "ho" was the mint room at Celestial Seasonings, and my "ho" was the propaganda film at Celestial Seasonings; it was awful and hilarious!
