Austin to Dallas

This morning, Josh and I got out of the door in the early afternoon and hit the road for Dallas. On our way out of Austin we passed Torchy's Tacos, a famous little taco shop that we had heard a lot about. We ordered two tacos: a fried avocado taco and a barbacoa taco and we ate them on the road... both were fantastic!

Somehow time got away from us on the trip and we got to Dallas pretty late around 8 PM. We found our hosts' house easily, and it was similar to Meagan's apartment in Mobile: a small apartment in a historic house.

Amanda and Liam were our hosts and they were just wonderful! They are a few years older than us and were married in July in a really small and pretty wedding in a forest in Seattle; earlier in the day they had a phone interview for a teaching position in China! They are hoping to teach English in a rural province in China, and if they got that opportunity it will start in August.

Josh's high for the day was his run around the campus, and my high was meeting Amanda and Liam... such a cute couple! Josh and I had the same low... again, the weather is just not ideal for our outdoor-focused trip. Josh's "ho" was being Amanda and Liam's first ever Couch Surfers!! We hope we gave them a good first CS-ing experience. My "ho" was playing with baby Sophia... Camille put on music and Sophia had a little dance, it was adorable!
